Network Health Appoints Vice President of Network Management

(Medford, Mass.) — Network Health, a Massachusetts health plan that provides high-quality health care coverage to more than 170,000 Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes, announced today that it has appointed Woburn resident Paul Burke as vice president of network management. Burke most recently served as Network Health senior director of network management, and previously served as the health plan’s director of contracting.

Burke oversees Network Health’s network management, including developing and managing Network Health’s provider network, which includes hospitals, ancillary service providers, physicians, and behavioral health providers. Burke also provides leadership and operational oversight for the health plan’s network growth strategy; oversees credentialing and provider enrollment strategies; and directs ongoing provider support and provider education programs for facilities, physicians, and administrative staff.

“Paul’s contracting and network management expertise played a critical role in Network Health’s nearly statewide expansion,” said Christina Severin, Network Health president. “Paul’s leadership will be invaluable, as Network Health expands its provider engagement and transformational contracting initiatives to support accountable care organization development in an evolving health care landscape.”

Burke has more than 15 years of experience in health care contracting and network management. Prior to Network Health, Burke served as director of network management and contracting at Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan. He has also held leadership positions in health care contracting and provider relations at Cape Cod Healthcare, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Delta Dental of Minnesota, UCare health plan, and Cigna HealthCare.

Burke earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Philosophy from Boston College. He currently serves as president of the HealthCare Administrative Solutions board of directors.
