Network Health Appoints Chief Technology Officer
(Medford, Mass.) — Network Health, a Massachusetts health plan that provides high-quality health care coverage to more than 170,000 Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes, announced today that it has appointed Cambridge resident Peter Bristol as vice president and chief technology officer.
Bristol oversees Network Health’s information technology (IT) functions, including software systems management and development, analytics and business intelligence, and computing and telecommunications infrastructure support. Bristol also manages E-business activities, including the health plan’s Web site, electronic data interchange systems, and online provider and member services; and reports business intelligence services to Network Health’s executive leadership team.
“Peter plays a central role in identifying and implementing analytic and IT solutions that support Network Health’s business strategies,” said Christina Severin, Network Health president. “I look forward to working with Peter as Network Health expands its IT capabilities and implements new technologies that help us best support our provider network and provide our members with access to high-quality health care.”
Bristol has more than 15 years of analytic and technology experience in the health care field. Since joining Network Health in 1999, Bristol has served as senior director of IT; director of E-business and analytics; IT project manager; and health data analyst. Prior to Network Health, Bristol held technical and financial roles at Sutter Health of Santa Cruz, California, and was a telecommunications and network research analyst at Gartner Dataquest in San Jose, California.
Bristol earned a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Economics from Boston University. He is a member of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium and its CIO Forum; Association for Community Affiliated Plans CIO Roundtable; and the New England Health Exchange Network.
