Network Health Appoints Chief Marketing Officer
(Medford, Mass.) — Network Health, a Massachusetts health plan that provides high-quality health care coverage to more than 170,000 Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes, announced today that it has appointed Cambridge resident Deborah Gordon as vice president and chief marketing officer. Gordon most recently served as Network Health senior director of marketing, and previously served as the health plan’s director of membership marketing.
Gordon oversees Network Health’s marketing strategy and implementation efforts, including advertising, branding, market expansion, membership acquisition and retention, community outreach, health promotion, membership trending and analysis, public relations, and the health plan’s Web site.
“Since 2004, Debbie has introduced new and innovative marketing efforts that have significantly increased Network Health membership and brand awareness” said Christina Severin, Network Health president. “I’m confident that Debbie will continue to engage Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes to make sure they know about, and have access to, high-quality health care.”
Under Gordon’s leadership, Network Health’s marketing team has helped increase the health plan’s membership by nearly 160 percent since 2004, and has received more than 100 local, regional, and national marketing awards for its efforts. She co-chaired the 2007 Medicaid Outreach, Enrollment, and Education conference, and has been a speaker at national Medicaid and health care conferences, including the 2010 Accountable Care Organization Congress and 2010 Harvard Business School Health Industry Alumni Conference.
Prior to joining Network Health, Gordon served as senior product manager at Staples, Inc.; principal of the Parthenon Group; and director of marketing at John Snow, Inc.’s Community Health Institute in New Hampshire.
Gordon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration with distinction from Harvard Business School. She is a member of the CMO Club; Harvard Business School Women’s Alumni Association; Harvard Business School Health Industry Alumni Association; and New England Society for Healthcare Communicators. Additionally, Gordon sat on the board of directors of Radcliffe Child Care Center, and currently sits on the board of directors of Parents’ Perspective, Inc.
