TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2009Network Health Appoints Associate Medical Director
(Medford, Mass.) — Network Health announced today the appointment of Dr. Stephen Davis, MD, as associate medical director. Davis will be involved in the plan’s care management and utilization management teams. In this position, he will provide medical oversight to care managers who coordinate member’s care across the continuum of illness, promote effective utilization and quality of care, and monitor health care resources.
“Steve joins Network Health with a depth of clinical and managed care experience,” said Dr. Pano Yeracaris, vice president and chief medical officer for Network Health. “In his new role, Steve will focus on utilization management reviews and our clinical-quality-improvement initiatives to ensure we continue to deliver the highest-quality medical care to our members.”
Davis previously served as medical director and pediatrician at Pentucket Medical Associates for more than 35 years. In this capacity, he introduced and monitored quality initiatives; contracted with outside specialists, insurers, and ancillary-care facilities; and assisted with medical group governance.
Davis also sat on various committees at Partners HealthCare, primarily focused on contracting, medical management, computerized medical records, network operations, and funds flow. Prior to joining Pentucket Medical Associates, Davis served in the United States Air Force as a medical officer.
Davis earned a Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital. Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University.
