Commonwealth Care Open Enrollment Period Extended
Commonwealth Care members now have until July 8 to choose health plan

(Medford, Mass.) — Network Health, Inc., a lowest-cost option for residents eligible for Commonwealth Care, announced today that the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority (the Connector) has extended its Commonwealth Care open enrollment period through July 8, 2011.

Commonwealth Care offers access to high-quality, affordable health care for Massachusetts residents 19 years or older who earn at or below 300% of the federal poverty level, which is up to approximately $32,676 a year for an individual or up to approximately $67,056 a year for a family of four, and do not have access to subsidized health insurance, including employer-sponsored health insurance. The Connector determines Commonwealth Care eligibility.

“Network Health is committed to delivering our members access to high-quality health care along with real cost savings,” said Christina Severin, Network Health president. “Extending Commonwealth Care open enrollment gives Network Health an opportunity to continue its efforts to educate Massachusetts residents about the importance of health care coverage, and further establish Network Health’s position as a lowest-cost Commonwealth Care health plan with a high-value network of doctors and hospitals.”

Network Health partners with top hospitals across the state and continues to grow its provider network. Network Health recently entered into new partnerships with Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield and North Adams Regional Hospital in North Adams. Network Health is also continuing partnerships with Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, and South Shore Medical Center in Weymouth, to best serve its Commonwealth Care members.

Network Health gives its Commonwealth Care members great EXTRAS, including $75 back on fitness activities, Weight Watchers discounts, and free health support with a 24/7 NurseLine; offers an English and Spanish-language Web site where members can order ID cards, change their primary care provider, view authorization and referral statuses, use interactive tools like “Find a Doctor,” and get up-to-date health information; and has friendly customer care specialists who can help in more than 170 languages.
